About The Project

Project Description:
This project showcases our large-diameter laser cutting capability — a niche few fabrication shops in Australia can offer in-house. A 6-metre length of 719mm diameter anti-corrosion grade stainless steel, 6.8mm wall, was cut to precise, repeatable lengths on our KL-90010-T at Dandenong. Not a demonstration piece, but a genuine production order cut to the tolerances that oil and gas pipe applications demand.

Scope of Work:
Specialty Material: Anti-corrosion grade stainless steel, 719mm diameter and 6.8mm wall, to the grade specified for oil and gas pipe applications.
Precision Programming: Modelled and nested the cut schedule at the CNC terminal before any material moved, so every section came off the machine to length first time.
Large-Diameter Laser Cutting: Fed the 6-metre raw length through the KL-90010-T and cut it into 2m, 3m and other finished sections to suit different downstream uses.
Quality Checked: Every cut face and finished length inspected before the sections were wrapped and staged for shipment.
