The Machine
KL90010-T Laser Tube Cutting Machine
A heavy-section CNC laser tube cutter with one of the largest cutting envelopes available in Melbourne. Built for structural and architectural tube cutting where conventional saws hit their limits.

Five-axis CNC tube laser with a rotary axis bore of 1,000 mm and effective cutting length of 13.5 m. Automatic cross-section detection means H-beams, channels, RHS and CHS feed in without re-fixturing between profile types.

Cut Geometries
Cut Types — Straight, Miter, Bevel and Profile
Four cut geometries supported in single-pass operation on the KL90010-T — no separate weld-prep, no manual marking, no secondary grinding.
Straight Cut
Square cut perpendicular to the tube axis. The baseline operation for length-to-spec parts.
Miter Cut
Angled cuts from −45° to +45° for frame joints, truss connections and architectural geometry.
Bevel / Weld Prep
Oscillating laser head cuts the weld prep bevel in the same pass as the section cut.
Holes & Slots
Bolt holes, slot patterns and cope features cut in the same setup as the length cut.
When to Use Laser Tube Cutting
Laser Tube Cutting vs Plasma or Saw
Saws, plasma and laser each have their place. Laser tube cutting earns its cost where the part needs holes, slots, bevels or miter cuts that would otherwise require multiple operations.
Mechanical Saw
- Best for plain straight cuts to length
- Square cuts only — no holes, slots, miters
- Manual marking needed for any downstream prep
- Bevels require a separate operation
Laser Tube Cutting (8 Star)
- Length cut + holes + slots + bevel in one pass
- CNC profile detection — handles mixed sections
- Heat-affected zone smaller than plasma
- Best fit for parts with engineered detail features
- No marking, no second-stage grinding
Plasma Cutting
- Good for plate cutting and rough profile work
- Wider kerf and larger HAZ on tube sections
- Less precision on slot and bolt-hole geometry
- Edge quality often needs grinding before paint
How We Quote
How to Send Us a Laser Tube Cutting Job
Four steps from sending us a drawing to receiving cut steel at your site or workshop.
01
Send DXF or Step File
Submit your cutting drawing with profile spec, length, quantities and finish requirement. We'll confirm the geometry is buildable on the KL90010-T.

Pick-up or Deliver
Collect from our Dandenong workshop or we deliver across Melbourne metro. Cut parts can be bundled with structural steel packages we're fabricating.
DispatchWho Cuts With Us
Industries We Cut For
Six audience types make up most of our tube cutting workload. If your section sits within our envelope (900 mm OD, 800 × 300 H, 13.5 m), we're set up to handle the job.
Structural Steel Fabricators
Outsource overflow tube cutting or jobs beyond your own machine envelope. We cut to your shop drawings, you collect at dispatch.
Commercial Builders
Mitered hollow section frames, exposed structural columns and architectural connections cut to engineer's drawings.
Industrial Builders
Crane gantry rails, mezzanine support frames, conveyor structures and plant platform members.
Architectural Steel
Exposed CHS columns, decorative tube structures, custom profile cuts for designer-led builds.
OEM Manufacturers
Run-rate cutting for product assemblies — trailer chassis, equipment frames, plant skids.
Plant Maintenance
One-off replacement parts where the original section can't be sourced ready-cut. Bring us the spec, we cut to fit.
Frequently Asked
Laser Tube Cutting FAQ
Six questions builders and fabricators ask before sending us their first cutting job.
What's the maximum tube diameter you can laser cut?
The KL90010-T cuts round tubes up to 900 mm OD. The rotary axis bore is 1,000 mm — among the largest tube laser cutting envelopes available in Melbourne.
What's the maximum steel thickness you can cut?
Up to 25 mm in carbon steel across all profile types — round tubes, square tubes, H-beams, channels and angles.
Can you laser cut H-beams and I-beams?
Yes — H-beams from 100 × 100 mm up to 800 × 300 mm. Automatic cross-section detection means we don't need to re-fixture between profile types in the same run.
What's the maximum material length?
12 m standard, 13.5 m effective — long structural members go through in a single pass without splice or segmentation.
Do you offer bevel cutting for weld prep?
Yes — the oscillating laser head achieves −45° to +45° bevel in the same pass as the section cut. No separate bevelling step needed.
Can I supply my own steel?
Yes — bring or send your own material. We'll record the mill cert against the job for traceability. Alternatively, we can supply the section from our own stock.
